Residential Trash Collection Route Changes

Starting on May 6, 2014, the city’s Solid Waste Division new residential trash collection routes will begin. Half of our residential customers will be assigned a different day of the week for trash collection. The other 50% will not experience a trash day change. The goal in restructuring the residential trash routes is to create efficiencies in collection and to define route size areas that will be able to be serviced by trash and recycling trucks on the same day. Residential curbside recycling collection will begin this fall. Note: Monday will continue to be the yard waste collection day for all residential customers.

The Solid Waste Division is using a variety of communication tools to inform residential customers about the trash collection route changes. See attached overview of the communication tools with timeline and new trash route map which indicates the days for service.
