RE:	Vacation of Right-of-way 1111 E. 23^rd Street

On July 24, 2012 the City Commission will hold a public hearing to consider the vacation of right-of-way located in McConnell Addition, Lot 1 (commonly known as 1111 E. 23^rd Street; McConnell Machinery Co., Inc.).  The owner, Doris McConnell, gave the extended right-of way to the City in 1986 for a possible frontage road along 23^rd Street (see attached application/map).  Since that time there have been a number of properties along 23^rd Street that have built new buildings close enough to 23^rd Street that would prohibit the possibility of a frontage road ever being built. 

All utilities, as well as property owners within 200 feet, were notified.  No objections were received.

Action Requested:     Hold public hearing and, pending discussion, approve order of vacation.
