Report on water demand from Rural Water Districts

The attached report from the Utilities Department details 2008 water demands from the Rural Water Districts, including meter numbers, maximum daily usages and contract terms.  

 

Staff member receives award for new special populations class

Lawrence Parks and Recreation Department's Annette Deghand, Special Populations Division supervisor, received the Outstanding New or Innovative Recreation Program Award from the Kansas Recreation and Park Association's Recreation Branch for the new Acting 101 class she developed for the Special Populations Division. The award was presented at the KRPA state conference held in Topeka last week (see attached photo). Part-time staff members, Angela Harris and Sally Trujillo, also received recognition with the award.

 

Fire Medical Explorer Post Annual Report

The attached annual report contains information on the 2008 activities of Lawrence-Douglas County Fire Medical Department’s Explorer Post #2555. The Explorer Post provides leadership training and allows area youth to gain insight into a possible career in the fire medical service.

 

Delivery of quint order expected in March

The attached memo contains information regarding the inspection and delivery schedule of three new pieces of fire apparatus, which includes two 75’ Quints and one Technical Rescue Vehicle.  Also attached is a “photo album” of one of the Quints in progress.

 

Update on 617 W. 4th Street
