Fire Apparatus Inspection and Delivery Schedule

The following schedule outlines the estimated Inspection and Delivery dates of the three new pieces of fire apparatus.  They include two 75’ Quints and one Technical Rescue Vehicle.

 

Quints

Cost - $831,826.00 ea

Inspection Trip – Week of March 23, 2009

Delivery to Lawrence – Week of March 30, 2009

In-service Date – Week of June 1, 2009

Once the vehicles are delivered the following inspections and training is conducted:

·          Central Vehicle Maintenance performs delivery inspections;

·          Manufacture training is performed;

·          Installation of equipment;

·          Department driver/operator training.

 

Technical Rescue

Cost - $621,521

Inspection Trip – Week of May 3, 2009

Delivery to Lawrence – Week of May 11, 2009

In-service Date – Week of July 20, 2009

Once the vehicles are delivered the following inspections and training is conducted:

·          Central Vehicle Maintenance performs delivery inspections;

·          Manufacture training is performed;

·          Installation of equipment;

·          Department driver/operator training.

 

As you recall the City authorized the sole source purchase of these three vehicles off the HGAC contract.  This contract purchase saved an estimated $180,000 to $230,000 in administrative time and actual vehicle costs.
