Central Maintenance getting a jump start of fleet replacements due to manufacturer production schedules

Central Maintenance is working diligently with departments to finalize vehicle / equipment specifications for units being replaced in budget year 2016.  Robert Aaron, Fleet Manager, is currently working with specifications for the bidding process and also looking at cooperative purchasing agreements.  Central Maintenance will begin putting specifications out for bids in late October and November.  The City Commission will see bid awards in December or early January. Purchase orders will be submitted in early January to get the units ordered. Production and delivery times for vehicles and equipment have been increasing in length from the vendor and manufacturing side. Central Maintenance is making every effort to decrease the length between order and delivery.
