Lane closure set for 23rd Street between Louisiana and Alabama
The Lawrence Utilities Department plans to close the outside lane of westbound 23rd Street between Louisiana and Alabama. The lane will be closed beginning Monday, September 28 through Monday, October 5. The closure is to complete road repair related to the 23rd Street waterline improvements that contractors completed last year. Traffic control devices and digital message boards will be in place to detour motorists around the lane closure. See attached map.
August 2015 Monthly Building Permit Reports
The Building Safety Division issued 217 building permits in August, with total construction for the month valued at $20,132,481. Total permit fees assessed for the month were $110,677. Permits were issued for twenty-one (21) new residential projects, including twelve (12) single-family dwellings, six (6) duplexes, two (2) triplexes, and one (1) mixed use building with thirty (30) assisted living dwelling units. Planning Commission Video & Playback
The city recently began filming the Planning Commission meetings. Planning Commission meetings will be re-aired on the city’s cable channel on WOW at 6:00 p.m. on Friday and Saturday each week. Planning Commission videos will also be archived on the city website with the Planning Commission agendas at www.lawrenceks.org/boards/planning-commission/agendas . The City Commission meetings re-air on the WOW cable channel on Wednesday and Thursday evenings at 6:00 p.m. each week. Video copies of all City Commission meetings are available at www.lawrenceks.org/agendas .
City Commission Vacancy Forum Filming
All meetings of the Vacancy Task Force have been broadcast and streamed live during the meetings. The forum set for Thursday, September 24 at 6:30 p.m. and the Special Meeting of the City Commission set for Thursday, October 1 at 5:45 p.m. will also be aired on the city cable channel and live on our stream at www.lawrenceks.org/stream.
August Website Analytics Report
The city’s web content administrator Kevin Powell puts together a monthly report for the city’s website. In August, the city’s analytics for sessions, users and page views are all up, when compared to last year’s data.
