RE:	Approval of the use of Synthetic Turf within an interior courtyard at Schwegler Elementary School (SP-14-00466)

Background

The Site Plan for the Schwegler Elementary School building addition and site improvements have been administratively approved by the Planning Director on February 20, 2015. There were minor conditions included in the approval.

A small courtyard area located within the interior of the site is proposed to include synthetic turf.  The courtyard contains approximately 3,000 sf of space completely surrounded by the existing building and the proposed addition.  The turf is proposed for durability and maintenance ease.  Section 20-1009(b) of the Development Code requires approval by the City Commission for the installation of synthetic turf and specifies it must be installed in compliance with Chapter 18, Article 4, Section 18-402(b) of the City Code.

Action

Approve installation of synthetic turf as shown on SP-14-00466 at Schwegler Elementary School per Section 18-402(b) of the City Code.
