Award Bid No. B1263; Water and Wastewater Treatment Chemicals for 2013 to the bidders marked by a triple asterisk (***) on the attached bid summary.

 

Project History/Status

Utilities Department requested bids for water and wastewater chemicals for 2013. Bids were opened on October 30, 2012 and evaluated by City staff. The bid summary is attached with the recommended bid marked by a triple asterisk (***). The recommended bids are based on the low bid that met the chemical specifications and included shipping. The low bid for Clinton polymer, Calgon Carbon, Phosphate solution, and Potassium Permanganate at the Treatment plants did not meet the required chemical specifications.

 

Attached is a comparison of chemical use from 2009 to October 2012 and unit prices.

 

Project Funding: 

The chemicals will be funded from water, wastewater and collection system 2013 Operations and Maintenance Budget.

 

Action Request:  Staff recommends approval of the Water and Wastewater Treatment Chemicals for 2013 to the bidders marked by a triple asterisk (***) on the attached bid summary.
