Update to Report about Possible Use of the Santa Fe Station as a Transit Hub

 

Commissioner Carter, Bob Nugent and Diane Stoddard were invited to attend a meeting of the East Lawrence Neighborhood Association on May 7, 2012 to discuss the report related to the possible use of the Santa Fe Station as a transit hub. 

 

During the meeting, a number of questions were fielded.  Eric Kirkendall, a resident in the neighborhood, made some statements and requested some additional information from the city regarding a prior examination of the depot as a transit hub conducted by the Public Transit Advisory Committee (PTAC), in 2002.  After the meeting, staff reviewed the files to find the reports related to these discussions.  It also appears that the City received a small grant from the Great American Stations Foundation to explore the feasibility of locating the transit hub at the Santa Fe Station.  Staff provided the following reports to Mr. Kirkendall.  These reports are provided below:
