Consider the following determinations by the Historic Resources Commission concerning the proposed project to be located at 900 New Hampshire Street:   Appeal Letter   HRC Summary   Correspondence - Updated 03/13/12

  1. Consider making a determination based on a consideration of all relevant factors that there is/is not a feasible and prudent alternative to the proposed project at 900 New Hampshire Street and that the proposed project includes/does not include all possible planning to minimize harm to the listed properties. The Historic Resources Commission determined (7-0) on February 16, 2012 that this project will encroach upon, damage or destroy the listed historic properties and their environs.

 

ACTION:    Make a determination based on a consideration of all relevant factors that there is a feasible and prudent alternative to the proposed project to be located at 900 New Hampshire Street and that the proposed project does not include all possible planning to minimize harm to the listed property, if appropriate.

 

  1. Consider an appeal of the HRC determination to deny a Certificate of Appropriateness for the proposed project to be located at 900 New Hampshire Street. The HRC determined (7-0) on February 16, 2012 that this project will encroach upon, damage or destroy the listed historic properties and their environs.

 

ACTION:       Uphold the determination of the HRC or issue a Certificate of Appropriateness for the project, if appropriate

·         Consider a Comprehensive Plan Amendment, CPA-11-8-11, to Chapter 6 of Horizon 2020 to expand the identified boundaries of Downtown Lawrence to accommodate a proposed mixed use project known as the North Mass Development.  The request includes a proposal to exempt the proposed North Mass Development from the current requirement that individual stores in the Downtown Commercial Center have a maximum footprint of no more than 25,000 square feet. Proposed by Paul Werner Architects. (PC Item 4; failed to recommend 4-4 on 2/27/12)

 

·         Consider a request to rezone, Z-12-29-11, approximately 1.38 acres from IG (General Industrial) and CS (Commercial Strip) to CD (Downtown Commercial), located at 401 & 415 North 2nd Street.
