City website passes one million visits

 

The City of Lawrence website passed a milestone in 2011 when it passed one million visitors.

 

The website, lawrenceks.org, had 1,011,870 visitors last year, with 2,743,667 pages viewed. This number does not include LawrenceTransit.org, which also had 137,560 visits and 435,829 viewed pages in 2011.

 

The top 10 most visited pages for the city in 2011 were:

2.    LPRD home

3.    Jobs

4.    Utility Billing home

5.    Adult Sports schedules

6.    Adult Sports

7.    Indoor Aquatic Center

8.    Youth Sports

9.    Planning and Development Services home

Some of the most visited * pages in 2011 include:

 

1.    Interactive Crime Map – Jan. 20, 2011

2.    48 Hours of Calls – Feb. 28, 2011

3.    LPRD home – April 4, 2011

4.    Jobs – Aug. 1, 2011

 

* The city home page was the most visited page for every date listed above, but left off this list to eliminate redundancy.

 

Several features were added to the city website, which helped lead to the increase in visitors, including:

 

·         Mega menus

·         Traffic cameras available in the interactive map

·         Redesigned snow operations page and mapping system
