Lawrence Parks and Recreation Department announces winter enrollment for Zumba classes.

Zumba is a Latin-inspired, dance-fitness class incorporating Latin and international music and dance movements, creating a dynamic fitness program. Zumba combines fast and slow rhythms that tone and sculpt the body using an aerobic/fitness approach to achieve a unique blended balance of cardio and muscle-toning benefits.

Zumba is offered:

  • 12:10-12:50 p.m., Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, Feb. 1–March 5, at the Community Building, 115 W. 11th St. Cost is $43 per person.

 

  • 5:30-6:25 p.m., Mondays, Feb. 1–March 1, at the Community Building. Cost is $21 per person.

 

  •  9-9:50 a.m., Saturdays, Feb. 6–March 6, at Sports Pavilion Lawrence. Cost is $21 per person.

This class requires face coverings being worn at all times and are following COVID-19 safety guidelines, which can be found at https://assets.lawrenceks.org/lprd/covid/fitnessmartialarts.pdf.

Conditions will be continuously be monitored and reviewed in consultation with public health professionals. Status updates will continue to be updated every Thursday to indicate the current risk level using green, yellow, orange or red based on the number of new cases, trends and percentage of positive COVID-19 test to mirror Lawrence-Douglas County Health’s recommendations being used for the Smart and Safe School Reopening Guidelines and Status for county schools.
