In 2014 there was one EMS incident for fireworks injury. The patient was transported to Lawrence Memorial Hospital and later was transferred to KU Medical Center.

The fireworks standbys were overtime crews staffing a Brush Truck at Riverfront Park during the Jaycees Fireworks display. For 2014 there were 2 personnel for 3.6 hours each ($230.00) – 2015 was 2 personnel for 5.6 and 6.5 hours ($387.00).

There was one fireworks related event in 2015 in the 300 block of Locust for smoke emitting from a Porta Potty. On investigation there was no fire found but smoke originated from discharged fireworks.
