RE:	George Williams Way – Deferred Assessment Agreement: Collister

Resolution 6449 authorized the creation of a special assessment benefit district for the construction of George Williams Way, from Harvard Road to West 6^th Street. In August, the City Clerk’s office received the final assessment data for the project and sent assessment notices to the tract owners in the benefit district. Tract 4 in the district, owned by Christine A. Collister, has an assessment of $171,447.87 (see attached map). Pursuant to City Commission direction, staff has prepared a deferral agreement for this property. The City of Lawrence will defer collection of this assessment until such time that the terms of the deferral agreement require payment, basically upon re-development of the property.

Action Requested

Staff has received the attached executed agreement from Christine Collister and requests authorization for the Mayor to execute the agreement on behalf of the City.
