COMMUNITY BUILDING GYM ROOF REPLACEMENT – B06038

Parks and Recreation requested bids for the replacement of the gym roof at the Community Building. The existing roof membrane is worn and deteriorating and needs to be replaced before if fails and causes damage to the gym floor. The bid specifications required an 80 mil roof with a 25 year warranty for materials and labor. The three low bids do not meet specifications. The low bid from Midwest Coatings bid a 50 mil membrane and a 20 year warranty and the bids from Huttinger Construction and J. B. Turner & Sons Roofing bid a 20 year warranty. The recommended bid from Burris Roofing meets the bid specifications which required an 80 mil roof with a 25 year warranty for materials and labor. This purchase was approved by David Corliss, Interim City Manager.
