Completed Tasks through Sept 27, 2006
- Continued Public Involvement Program. Finalized poster No. 5 and delivered to the City
- Received final geotechnical report and forward to City.
- City provided cop of Siting Study Report to Haskell Indian Nation University.
- Developed preliminary materials for the planning commission pre-submittal meeting and mid-month planning commission meeting.
- Continued review of hydraulic model for Wakarusa River.
- Reviewed Southeast and Northwest Master Plan updates and additional information provided by the City, to develop current and future flows for both dry- and wet-weather for the Kansas River and Wakarusa WRF.
- Developed anticipated wastewater load characteristics to the new Wakarusa WRF.
- Completed a draft Technical Memorandum assessing potential regulatory strategies for the Kansas WWTP and Wakarusa WRF. Forwarded the Technical Memorandum to the City for review.
- Completed site visit for the development of piping corridors to the WRF. Collected contour information for the provision of either a lift station/influent pumping station.
- Requested additional FEMA information for Coal Creek to finalize hydraulic review of existing Wakarusa hydraulic model.
Tasks for October 2006
- Finalize Siting Study based on Comments received from City Commission, City Staff, and KDHE. Re-Submit Siting Study to Owner as required.
- Meet with City/planning staff for a pre-submittal meeting on October 5 and planning commission mid-month meeting on October 11.
- Continued to support City in acquisition of property.
- Meet with City to Finalize flows and loads for new facility.
- Meet with City Staff to discuss regulatory strategy for the KDHE Surface Quality Reduction Plan. Meet with KDHE to discuss strategy for Lawrence.
- Continue anti-degradation work for Wakarusa River.
- Meet with City/acquisition team to discuss possible piping corridors and pumping station locations. Update CDP model to access piping corridors
- Develop agenda and presentation for Pubic Meeting No. 5. Meet with City/PBA to finalize public involvement strategy.
- Continue development of strategies for liquid, disinfection, odor control, solids processing, and wet-weather alternatives.
