Completed Tasks through Nov. 28, 2006
- Presented Siting Study to Haskell Indian Nations University. Presentation discussed Siting Study, current, and future work.
- Completed review of hydraulic model for Wakarusa River. Prepared storm water mitigation plan for the initial 7 mgd facility build-out.
- Submitted liquid Technical Memorandum to the City on Monday, November 27. A workshop is scheduled for November 28 to discuss liquid and solid process options.
- Developed planning level estimates for biological nutrient removal, enhanced nutrient removal, and limit of technology nutrient removal for the Wakarusa facility. Memorandum was forwarded to KDHE for comment.
- Completed cost estimates to determine viable corridors from Four Seasons Complex and SE Pumping Station to new facility. Met with City/acquisition team on November 16 to discuss viable piping corridors and pumping station locations.
- Continued to address storm water issues. Prepared storm water mitigation plan for initial 7 mgd facility build out. Mitigation plan will be forwarded to City for review.
Tasks for December 2006
- Finalize Siting Study based on Comments received from City Commission, City Staff, and KDHE. Re-Submit Siting Study to Owner as required.
- Continue to support City in acquisition of property.
- Finalize flows and loads for new facility. Discuss benefits of adding additional storage at Four Seasons Complex to alleviate wet-weather flows to the Wakarusa facility.
- Prepare strip maps of piping corridors to the Wakarusa WRF. Meet with City/acquisition team to finalize corridors and pumping station locations.
- Develop agenda and presentation for Pubic Meeting No. 5. Meet with City/PBA to finalize public involvement strategy. Public meeting is proposed for January/February 2007.
- Hold workshops to review flows and wet-weather alternatives.
