Monthly Progress Report 05-31-06

Completed Tasks through May 31, 2006

  • Continued Public Involvement Program by completing Utility Mailer.
  • Property Team obtained Owner and Encumbrance reports for Purple and White sites and contacted affected land Owners.
  • Held Public Meeting No. 3 on May 10 to discuss finalized process and site evaluations.
  • Completed desk top studies on purple and white sites – no significant findings.
  • Began site investigations on selected sites. Site investigations include wetland delineation, soil borings, Phase 1 Environmental, historic and cultural resources. Began boundary survey of white site.
  • Continued development of Scope of Services for Wakarusa WRF Basis of Design Report, Design Memo and Corridor Study. Reviewed with City.

Anticipated Tasks for June 2006

  • Continue Public Involvement program
  • Complete site investigations on purple and white sites.
  • Property team to complete land appraisal of two sites.
  • Complete Scope of Services for Basis of Design, Design Memorandum with Preliminary Drawings, Corridor Study and VE Study. Submit for Commission approval.
  • Finalize draft Siting Study in anticipation of making site recommendation to City in July.

Actions/Issues

  • Population growth may accelerate need for Wakarusa WRF prior to 2011. Important to maintain project timeline.
  • City has approved amendment to conduct site investigations on two sites. Need to mobilize teams to second site.

  • Continue to evaluate project acceleration plan.
