Monthly Progress Report 03-27-07


Completed Tasks through March 25, 2007

  • Continued dialog with Kansas Department Health and Environment (KDHE) regarding review of the Siting Study.  Draft Wakarusa River modeling report reviewed with KDHE on March 21, 2007.
  • Submitted zoning, annexation, and preliminary plat information for the WRF site to the City Manager’s Office for review prior to submission to planning staff.
  • Met with staff and property acquisition team to select proposed pipeline corridor and west influent pumping station location.
  • Disinfection, odor control, and preliminary treatment draft memorandums completed.  Discussed with staff on March 2, 2007.
  • Design flows and loads, liquid treatment, and solids treatment memorandums updated for results of Volatile Fatty Acids (VFA) sampling program.
  • Began preparation of preliminary hydraulic profile and mass balance for the Wakarusa WRF.
  • Began discussions with property owners along proposed corridor route and pumping station locations.

Taks for April 2007

  • Finalize Siting Study based on Comments received from City Commission, City Staff, and KDHE.  Re-Submit Siting Study to Owner as required.
  • Continue to support City in annexation, zoning, and platting of Wakarusa WRF Site.
  • Incorporate KDHE comments into Wakarusa River modeling report to allow Permit to progress to Public Comment phase.
  • Submit Draft Basis of Design Report to staff for review.
  • Begin development of Process and Instrumentation Diagrams as well as the Basis of Design Memorandum.
  • Hold meeting to update Public Advisory Subcommittee Representatives on next steps.
  • Prepare for on-site investigations along pipeline corridor and pumping station locations.
