Completed Tasks through March 2006
- Continued Public Involvement Program. Distributed public information mailer through a Utility bill mailing insert.
- Reviewed planned public involvement utility mailings with staff.
- Developed cost benefit ratio for small, medium, and large footprint technologies at potential sites (21 alternatives).
- Finalized process and site evaluations. Provided Executive Summary to City Commission in an Executive Session on March 14.
Anticipated Tasks for February 2006
- Continue public involvement program. Issue materials for second Utility mailings.
- Conduct investigations on multiple sites. Site investigations will include determination of preliminary wetlands, cultural, hydraulic/hydrologic evaluation, biological survey, and soil review.
- Plan Public Meeting No. 3 to discuss finalized process and site evaluations. Present to Public the selection of the two potential site locations upon City establishing contact with the property owners.
- Commence development of Scope of Services for Wakarusa WRF Basis of Design Report and Corridor Study to the selected location.
Actions/Issues
- Population growth may accelerate need for Wakarusa WRF prior to 2011. Important to maintain project timeline and accelerate where possible.
- City needs to engage property owners and initiate discussions with them to allow site access for due diligence of property.
