Monthly Progress Report 02-03-06


Completed Tasks through January 2006

  • Continued Public Involvement Program. Finalized media concepts for Kiosks, Utility mailings, and City/County mailings.
  • Held PAC Meeting No. 2 to review preliminary attributes and ranking scorecard for small, medium, and large foot print options at potential site locations.
  • Distributed memorandum determining ultimate build-out capacity of WRF to PAC.
  • Developed small, medium and large technology footprints for ultimate build-out. Defined footprint requirements for new facility.
  • Held Public Meeting for wetland treatment alternative. Dr. Robert Kadlec presented to both the public and PAC.
  • Held Public Meeting No. 2 to discuss criteria weighting.
  • Began working on cost estimating for all 21 alternatives.

Anticipated Tasks for February 2006

  • Provide project status update to City/County on February 8th.
  • Finalize process and site evaluations.
  • Develop cost benefit ratio for small, medium, and large footprint technologies at potential sites.
  • Hold Pac Meeting No. 3 to review revised preliminary attributes and ranking scorecard.
  • Continue Public Involvement program. Issue materials for kiosks and Utility mailings.

Actions/Issues

  • Population growth may accelerate need for Wakarusa WRF prior to 2011. Important to maintain project timeline.
  • Use of Eco Machine in Multiple WRF locations in lieu of one site were discussed at PAC Meeting No. 2 and City Commission. Commission directed a sub-group evaluate decentralized application of Eco Machines.
  • Proceeding with finalization of siting evaluations on centralized concept as included in contractual Scope of Work. Impacts of sub-group evaluation are unknown at this time pending outcome.

Decisions Needed

  • Confirmation to proceed with completion of centralized evaluations.
