Wakarusa Water Reclamation Facility
Project Overview
The City's 2003 Wastewater Master Plan evaluated projected growth and the impact that growth would have on the existing wastewater collection and treatment systems. In considering the current level of wastewater flows being treated, how much that flow would increase, how the wastewater could be transported and treated, changes in State and Federal requirements, and that the existing plant is nearing capacity, it was recommended that a second water reclamation facility be constructed, which would discharge to the Wakarusa River.
