Below is information provided in response to questions by the City Commission relating to budget issues.  Updates will be provided as additional information becomes available or additional requests are made.

Parks Facility Rentals and In Kind Contributions

In April, the City Commission directed staff to work with the Parks and Recreation Advisory Board to review existing policies regarding rental of facilities to not-for-profit organizations and for-profit groups and make recommendations to the City Commission regarding potential changes.  Staff has provided the attached memo as additional background information.  The Parks Board reviewed this information at their May 11 meeting and will be meeting again yet this month. 

During discussion of facility rentals and use, City Commissioners also requested a report on in-kind contributions provided by Lawrence Parks and Recreation to not-for-profit organizations.  A memo summarizing these contributions is attached.
