Information for Motorists
Tips for motorists, pedestrians and bicyclists.
- Cyclists are more vulnerable than motorists, and thus the motorists have a greater responsibility. A 2000 pound car will inflict greater damage than a 25-pound bicycle.
- Be aware that bad road conditions may cause a cyclist to weave out into traffic.
- Allow at least four feet of passing space between you and a bicycle.
- Don't blast your horn when approaching a cyclist-you will startle him/her.
- Children on bicycles and on foot are often unpredictable in their actions. Expect the unexpected.
- Be smart. Always wear your seatbelt.
