Recycling Subcommittee Minutes

Board members present were Daniel Poull, Dickie Heckle, and Marie Stockett
Staff member present was Mollie Mangerich
The Recycling Subcommittee plans to make a motion at the April RRCAB meeting asking the board if we may proceed to organize a meeting with local recycling haulers for the purpose of exploring ways to improving recycling in Lawrence. Daniel agreed to contact Kevin about getting this on the agenda.
WWR requests that each local hauler submits a business plan to the city. Mollie reviewed the information that she currently requests from each curbside collection service provider:

Agree to provide annual tonnage collected to City of Lawrence in exchange for free marketing of services on city brochures, website, etc.
Mollie said that WWR does not ask haulers to provide proof of insurance.
3. Next Recycling Subcommittee meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, April 19th at 5:30pm at the Solid Waste Recycling office.
