Public/Stakeholder/Industry Participation
Whether you drive, take transit, bicycle or walk to work, to shop, to school, or just for fun, transportation planning affects you. Businesses also use the transportation system to secure and deliver goods and to make sure employees can get to work. Where roads and paths go, when they are built, how they look and operate are all part of transportation planning. When something impacts your life many times every day, don’t you want to help make sure it is good?
Transportation 2030, serves as the Metropolitan Transportation Plan for Lawrence and Douglas County. However it is not static. The Lawrence-Douglas County Metropolitan Planning Organization that approved this plan carries out a continuing planning process for transportation.
So, even though this T2030 document has been approved and published, we want to hear from you and your comments on the transportation system in our region. The MPO is still required to update this plan every 5 years, and comments that help us improve the transportation system in our region are always welcomed. If you have comments or concerns about T2030, please send them to Todd Girdler at tgirdler@lawrenceks.org. A summary of comments the MPO heard during the development of the T2030 document are listed below for your review.
