Transportation 2030

Transportation 2030 represents the best attempts by citizens, governing bodies, planners and transportation experts to develop a vision for a healthy, safe, and efficient transportation system which will adequately serve Lawrence and Douglas County to the year 2030 and beyond. This document is the Metropolitan Transportation Plan for the Lawrence-Douglas County Region. This plan identifies future transportation needs, investments, and recommendations for all modes of transportation- automobile, public transit, and bicycle transportation.

The plan is a federally mandated document which requires the LDCMPO to update it every 5 years. Transportation 2030 meets the requirements of the federal Safe, Accountable, Flexible, Efficient Transportation Equity Act: A Legacy for Users. (SAFETEA-LU)
