Public Participation Plan
The Lawrence - Douglas County Metropolitan Planning Organization is currently updating its public participation plan (formerly referred to as the public involvement plan), which serves as a guide to improve the process for involving you in regional transportation decision making.
The public participation plan will be completed in early 2009 and will outline the preferred public input procedures, processes and techniques for use in regional transportation planning issues. Because transportation has a substantial impact on an area, effective transportation planning must include the participation of those whose everyday lives are affected by how they are able to get to work, home, school, stores, and services.
