Housing Programs

The City of Lawrence offers several grant and loan programs for low and moderate income homeowners. Please feel free to download the brochure for more information.

Comprehensive Housing Rehabilitation

Deferred or installment loan program that allows homeowners to borrow up to $25,000 to have needed rehab completed. Applications are received periodically. To be notified of the next application period contact Tony Hoch at 832-3113 or thoch@ci.lawrence.ks.us.

Emergency & Furnace Loans

For emergency situations, the City offers an emergency loan program that can provide up to $5,000 for emergency repairs or furnace replacement. Mobile home owners may access up to $1,500. Applications are available in the Development Services Office and online.

Weatherization Grants

Qualifying homeowners can have attic insulation, storm windows, and weather-stripping installed at no cost. Applications are accepted during the month of August. More Information
