Lawrence SmartCode

The following documents are items that are part of the adoption process for the Lawrence SmartCode. The items include two Comprehensive Plan Amendments and a draft of the code. The Lawrence Douglas County Planning Commission unanimously approved these items on May 21, 2008. The items are scheduled for City Commission action on January 6, 2009. The SmartCode draft has been modified with minor changes since the action by the Planning Commission. That draft, along with a memo outlining the changes, is below. • Horizon 2020 Chapter 15 – Place Making

PlaceMakers, a planning and development advisory firm, was retained by the City of Lawrence to develop a form-based Traditional Neighborhood Design (TND) development ordinance known as the SmartCode.
