Draft Environmental Chapter to Horizon 2020
Chapter 16 – Environment (CPA-2008-07)
The Comprehensive Plans Committee (CPC), in conjunction with Planning Staff has begun a process to draft a new chapter in Horizon 2020 concerning environmental issues. Stakeholders and the public will be asked to participate in the process throughout the development of the chapter. Check back with this page often, as it will be updated frequently as the proposed chapter moves through the process. A project timeline, as well as meeting notes and draft language can be found below.

The CPC has adopted the following mission statement as they work through the development of the environmental chapter:
Identify environmental resources present in Douglas County, and draft goals, policies and strategies to support protection, conservation, and management of these resources in the context of development activity, planning, and government operations, to achieve a livable, vibrant, and healthy community.
