Complete Streets

Complete Streets are planned, designed and operated to enable efficient and safe access for all users--pedestrians, bicyclists, motorists and transit riders of all ages and abilities.

The City of Lawrence in partnership with Livewell Lawrence hosted the following two events in Lawrence.

Public Presentation:

On September 29th Carol Kachadoorian, a senior planner with the National Complete Streets Coalition presented an overview of complete streets this Wednesday, from 6:30-8:00 p.m. in the Lawrence City Commission Room at City Hall.

Stakeholder Workshop:
On September 30th, thirty-two community stakeholders gathered for a day long Complete Streets Workshop presented by Michael Moule, PE, PTOE of Nelson/Nygaard in San Francisco and Carol Kachadoorian of Toole Design's Maryland office.  Participants had the opportunity to learn how the Complete Streets approach can help achieve multiple transportation, health and community goals.

Participants of the Complete Streets Workshop tour local roadways to explore how a Complete Streets Policy would impact what the built environment looks like.
