The Douglas County Community Foundation was founded in 2000 with a gift of $4 million from Hortense Oldfather. The organization’s mission is to enrich the quality of life in the communities of Douglas County by building philanthropic resources and relationships, providing attractive options for donors to make philanthropic contributions and being a catalyst for the betterment of the lives of the citizens of Douglas County.
In just five years, the foundation’s assets have increased to more than $7 million, returning more than $1 million over the five-year period.
