Rules and Regulations for Aquatic Facilities

The following are the rules/regulations for those while visiting any of Lawrence Parks and Recreation Department’s Aquatic Facilities.

  • Children 10 and younger must be accompanied by an adult.
  • All persons entering the facility will be charged full admission.
  • If a patron needs to leave the facility for any reason, guidelines for re-entry must be observed or full admission will be charged again.
  • Please do not loiter at the entrance of this facility.
  • Smoking, controlled substances, alcohol, weapons and glass are prohibited in the pool areas.
  • Outside food or drink, including coolers are prohibited in the pool areas.
  • Patrons suspected to be under the influence of drugs or alcohol will not be admitted.
  • Talking to or distracting the lifeguards while on duty is not allowed.
  • Only US Coast Guard approved personal flotation devices are allowed. Please leave all rafts, rings and water wings at home.
  • Please walk everywhere.
  • Diving from the poolside is prohibited.
  • Profanity or abusive language is prohibited.
  • If you need an accommodation to safely and enjoyably participate in any of our programs please see the pool manager.
  • Proper swimming attire must be worn in the pool. Cut-off shorts, shirts and street clothing are not allowed.
  • T-shirts are not to be worn unless authorized by the pool manager.
  • For health reasons, the use of regular diapers and/or plastic pants are not allowed. Only approved swim diapers are permitted.
  • All swimmers are required to shower before entering water.
  • Do not bring valuables to the pool.
  • Patrons must supply own lock for lockers. Locks must be removed at the end of the day, or will be removed by staff. The City of Lawrence is not responsible for loss or theft of personal belongings.
  • Anyone caught vandalizing, stealing, or breaking and entering will be subject to prosecution.
  • Height requirements and feature specific rules are posted near floating features diving boards and waterslides. (All waterslides, minimum 45″)
  • Goggles are prohibited when using the diving board or slides. Snorkels are not allowed at this facility.
  • Listen and watch for safety prompts from lifeguards on duty.
