Ride the T free to Sidewalk Sale
(Lawrence, Ks) – The best deal at this Thursday’s annual Sidewalk Sale can be found on the T buses. Lawrence Transit System will offer a free ridership day, waiving fares on all eight fixed routes, including the seven routes that go to the downtown hub.
With regular service from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m., the T can shuttle shoppers from sunup to practically sundown. Other advantages of riding the T include reducing traffic congestion and eliminating the need for parking.
“The Sidewalk Sale is a great opportunity to take the T downtown,” said Cliff Galante, Public Transit Administrator. “The convenience of hopping off the bus at 9th and Massachusetts without worrying about traffic and finding a parking place is a real benefit to shoppers.”
The free ridership day presents an opportunity for first-time riders to try public transit. Riders will find that transit drivers are an excellent resource for information.
