1)    Nominate Lawrence as a Google Fiber Community

(Lawrence, Ks.) – We need your help! In February, Google announced its intention to build and test ultra-high speed broadband networks across the United States in select locations with its Google Fiber for Communities experiment. The Lawrence City Commission authorized city staff to apply for consideration in the Google Fiber for Communities project. If selected, Lawrence residents would have access to Internet speeds of 1 gigabit per second, more than 100 times faster than the average broadband speeds in the U.S.

How can you help? Show your support for the city and this project by nominating Lawrence, Kansas. Cities across the country will be vying for this opportunity - the more residents that nominate Lawrence, the more Google will know our citizens are supportive of this project. Visit www.lawrenceks.org/googlefiber to nominate the City of Lawrence, Kansas as a Google Fiber Community. All nominations must occur by March 26.

For more information on the city’s bid to become a Google Fiber Community, follow the city on their Facebook or Twitter page or visit www.lawrenceks.org/googlefiber.
