1)    Crews treating roadways as snow continues to fall

(Lawrence, Ks.) – Street crews began working 24-hour snow operations this morning at 4:00 a.m. Crews have been working to treat the roadways with a mixture of sand and salt since early this morning and continue their efforts as snow remains falling in Lawrence. A possible accumulation of up to two inches is possible. Crews will continue to work throughout the day to treat roadways as necessary.

Motorists should be aware that roadways may be slick. It is recommended to use additional caution on elevated surfaces such as bridges and overpasses. Remember to always slow down when driving in winter conditions.
