Parks and recreation programming altered Saturday
(Lawrence, Ks.) – With forecasted extreme minus-zero temperatures, Lawrence Parks and Recreation Department has canceled all recreation fitness programs tomorrow, Jan. 9. This includes all fitness classes held at the city recreation centers. However, aquatic programs will be held as scheduled.
East Lawrence Recreation Center, 1245 E. 15th St., will also open later. It will be open from 1 to 9 p.m.
All other recreation facilities will open with regular operation hours. This includes:
Community Building, 115 W. 11th St., Holcom Park Recreation Center, 2700 W. 27th St.; South Park Recreation Center, 1141 Massachusetts St., Lawrence Indoor Aquatic Center, 4706 Overland Drive and Prairie Park Nature Center, 2730 Harper St.
