Cancellations announced due to inclement weather
(Lawrence, Ks.) – The City of Lawrence has announced the following cancellations or early closures due to inclement weather.
The Lawrence Parks and Recreation Department will not hold any activities, classes or programs this evening. This includes all recreation classes, adult and youth sports, aquatic classes and swim lessons. Also, all morning programs held before noon have been canceled for tomorrow, Thursday, Jan. 7.
All recreation facilities will close at 5 p.m. today, except for the Community Building, 115 W. 11th St., which will close at 6 p.m. Facilities closing at 5 p.m. are East Lawrence Recreation Center, 1245 E. 15th St.; Holcom Park Recreation Center, 2700 W. 27th St.; South Park Recreation Center, 1141 Massachusetts St., Lawrence Indoor Aquatic Center, 4706 Overland Drive, Carl Knox Natatorium, 1901 Louisiana St. and Prairie Park Nature Center, 2730 Harper St. In addition, all recreation facilities will open at 8 a.m. on Thursday, Jan. 7.

The Peak Oil Task Force meeting scheduled for Thursday, Jan. 7 has been cancelled. The task force will not meet again until their next regularly scheduled meeting on Thursday, February 4.
