1)    Ride the T free on two upcoming Saturdays

(Lawrence, KS) – Whether Lawrence residents are traveling around for holiday shopping or attending the Old Fashioned Christmas Parade, the T will offer free rides to help get them there with ease on two upcoming Saturdays.

Lawrence Transit System will waive fares on all eight fixed routes, including the seven routes that go to the downtown hub, on Saturday, Nov. 28, and Saturday, Dec. 5. Hours of operation are 6 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Advantages of riding the T include reducing traffic congestion and eliminating worries about parking.

“On these free ridership days, our riders can keep a little extra money in their pockets during the holiday season,” said Robert Nugent, Transit Administrator. “It’s also a great time to try public transit. Hop on and see where it takes you.”

Riders will find that bus drivers are an excellent resource for information. Drivers can help with transfers and explanation of timing points. To get help planning a route or for more information, call (785) 864-4644 or visit www.lawrencetransit.org  to view routes and schedules.
