About the Program
For young people who are interested in careers in the field of fire services and emergency medical services, exploring offers worksite experiential learning with lot's of fun-filled hands-on activities. Overall this is a progarm that helps youth pursue their special interests, grow, and develop. This is accomplished by the post empahisising in five areas.

Exploring is a national career education program of Learning for Life, a group affiliated with the Boy Scouts of America. The program is open for young men and women who have completed the eighth grade and are between the ages of 14 - 20.
The explorer program can also be used effectively as a recruitment program for future employees as well as an important part of a training program for future departmental volunteers. Some of our members have attended EMT-B, Fire Science college programs, Community Emergency Response Training and other certification courses. The post continues to help with a variety of public education programs that the department provides. The post continues to train once a week.
