Fleet Analysis

Background

The city’s vehicular fleet supports a range of City responsibilities which include: Solid Waste collections, Utility Collections and Distribution, Street and Storm water maintenance operations, Fire & Medical, Police, Parks and Recreation, Planning and Codes, Parking control, Building maintenance, and supporting administration services. The fleet consists of 850 active units that is responsible for maintaining services to the city’s infrastructure and public safety in efforts to obtain the highest quality of life for its citizens. This city has made a commitment to reduce its carbon emissions by 2035 and this will include the city’s fleet.

This Fleet Analysis project is being undertaken in response to Lawrence Ordinance Number 9744, linked below, passed March 3, 2020, partly entitled “Establishing goals for achieving 100% renewable energy within municipal operations and 100% renewable energy city-wide.”
