A minor change to our e-mail addresses

Reading time: 1 – 2 minutes

Yesterday, the City successfully completed a migration of our city e-mail addresses to use the domain @lawrenceks.org instead of the more cumbersome @ci.lawrence.ks.us.  We made this change because, for the past three years, our official city website has been lawrenceks.org and our e-mail addresses have not matched.  This is another step the city has made toward creating a unified branding strategy for all city departments.

The Lawrence Police Department was not affected by this e-mail change; their e-mail addresses are still using the @lkpd.org domain.    If you have a city employee or city e-mail saved in your address list, the @ci.lawrence.ks.us domain address will still work and e-mails will be delivered as usual.

We have asked departments to not make changes to letterhead, business cards and other printed publications or correspondence until supplies are depleted and there is a need to reorder.

At the City, we continuously look for ways to make communication with the citizens of Lawrence easier.  By changing our e-mail domain to match our website, we hope this make our email addresses easier to remember – feel free to email us at City Hall (CityHall@lawrenceks.org) anytime with a question, concern, kudos or comment!
