RE:          Review of possible aquatic rate increases in FY2007

Priority:

Attached please find three informational worksheets containing statistical data from Lawrence Parks & Recreation Aquatics.

The first sheet “Average Daily Attendance” outlines fiscal years 2003-2005.  This information details CASH admissions to the IAC and OAC separately over those years.  This information details how many people per age category paid CASH on a daily basis to enter the facilities.

Continuing on this sheet outlines how many MONTHLY (30-day) passes were sold and the revenue generated accordingly.  This also outlines how many times per facility in the years mentioned people used their MONTHLY pass to enter the facilities.  Based upon the number of MONTHLY passes sold versus the occurrence MONTHLY passes were used, the data shows the average cost per “swipe” or entrance, split into different calendar years.

The multiplication table delineates simple IF/THEN statements based upon actual CASH daily admission averages from FY2003-2005.  I have simplified the age categories to two age groups:  5-17 (plus seniors) and 18+.  With this we can easily project revenue based on daily admission per age group.  For example, based on the average participation numbers from 2003-2005, an adult daily pass at $3.00 and a child daily pass at $2.00 would generate $173,900.    Another example is if we charged $3.00 across the board for all age groups we could realize $221,928 in revenue.

The second page outlines actual participation and revenue per age category and by facility for 2005.  The chart also shows the effects on revenue if we raised or lowered corresponding daily rates.

Page three charts similar type facilities in the KC Metro and some in south central Kansas and what they charge for daily cash admission.

Let me know if I can better explain or provide additional data.
