Set Bid Date for Bid No. B1548 – New/Spare Pump Purchase for Pump Station 5B

 

Background

Previously, as approved by the Commission pursuant to Bid No. B1521, awards were made to low bidders for items in the 2015 Utilities Pump and Motor Rehabilitation. Item #9 was a new/spare pump for Pump Station 5B, awarded to low bidder FTC Equipment for $116,750. The only other bid received was for $125,395.00.

 

Recent Event

A recent lightning strike has operationally compromised one of the installed pumps, accelerating timely acquisition of the new/spare pump. FTC Equipment has advised they are unable to provide the Item #9 pump due to circumstances beyond their control. Staff believes solicitation of new bids for this item is appropriate at this time.

 

Project Funding

Purchase will be funded from the Utilities Operations and Maintenance Budget.

 

Action

Set a bid opening date of October 13, 2015, for Bid No.B1548 for new/spare pump purchase for Pump Station 5B.
