RE:	Event Permit – Old Fashion Christmas Parade : Saturday December 5, 2015

The Lawrence Old Fashion Christmas Parade has requested a street event permit to close various streets downtown (see map) on Saturday, December 5, 2015, from 11:00 a.m. to 12:15 p.m., for the 2015 Old Fashion Christmas Parade Event.

The parade will begin at 11:00 a.m. and the route will follow its traditional path from South Park north on Massachusetts Street, then east on 7^th Street, then south on New Jersey Street, then east on 15^th working their way toward the Douglas County Fairgrounds. The parade will follow the Lawrence Police Department Operations Plan.

In addition; Police, Parks and Recreation, Public Works, Fire/Medical, Lawrence Transit, Downtown Lawrence, Inc., and the Chamber all have reviewed this permit with no issues. We have also sent notice to the Lawrence Association of Neighborhoods.

ACTION

Approve a street event permit for the Lawrence Old Fashion Christmas Parade event to close various streets downtown on Saturday, December 5, 2015, from 11:00 a.m. to 12:15 p.m.
