Proclamation

Lawrence, Kansas

WHEREAS:   The International Youth Fellowship, in association with the Gracias Choir, will travel to twenty cities throughout the United States as part of its national Christmas Cantata tour; and

WHEREAS:   Established in 2000, the Gracias Choir has emerged as a world-class leader in music and has won grand prizes at the most prestigious choral competitions throughout the world; and

WHEREAS:   The choir and orchestra will bring joy and peppiness to local audiences through its choral and orchestral music program performed at The Lied Center; and

WHEREAS:   The dedication, musical discipline and selflessness of this all-volunteer ensemble creates a performance quality that exudes happiness and hope;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, Mike Amyx, Mayor of the City of Lawrence, Kansas, do hereby proclaim Sunday, September 27, 2015 as

Gracias choir day

in the City of Lawrence.
