Background
On August 25, 2015 the City Commission will hold a public hearing to consider the vacation of a pedestrian easement; described as:
The southerly 7.5 foot pedestrian easement for Lot 11, Block 2; and the northerly 7.5 foot pedestrian easement for Lot 12, Block 2, both a final plat of Hanscom-Tappan Addition a Subdivision in the City of Lawrence, Douglas County, Kansas (aka 1543 Hanscom Road and 1547 Hanscom Road)
The owners of the properties are Dustin & Sarah D. Smith (1543 Hanscom Road), and Subini A. Annamma & Ryan G. Eggen (1547 Hanscom Road). The proposed vacation states that the pedestrian easement is unnecessary to the community since the HOA is not planning on building a sidewalk.
All utilities, as well as property owners within the Hanscom-Tappan Subdivision and property owners within 200 feet, were notified. Hanscom-Tappan Addition, Inc (HOA) has given their support for this vacation (letter attached). No objections were received.
Action Request
Hold public hearing and pending discussion, approve order of vacation for the pedestrian easement located between 1543 Hanscom Road and 1547 Hanscom Road, as requested by property owners Dustin & Sarah D. Smith and Subini A. Annamma & Ryan G. Eggen.
