RE:

Overland Drive, Multi-Way Stops

Background

At the June 1, 2015 Traffic Safety Commission meeting, the Commission heard a request to establish a MULTI-WAY STOP on Overland Drive at the Free State High School East Driveway, at the Free State High School West Driveway, and at Champion Lane (see attached map).  Traffic data for all three (3) locations was obtained; however, none of the criteria as found in the Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices is currently met. In addition, two (2) of the locations are private driveways.

Traffic Safety Commission Action

At the Traffic Safety Commission meeting, no members of the public addressed the Commission in support of, or in opposition to, the request. The Commission, on a unanimous vote of 7-0, recommended denying the request to establish a MULTI-WAY STOP on Overland Drive at the Free State High School East Driveway, at the Free State High School West Driveway, and at Champion Lane.

Action Request

It is recommended that the City Commission concur with the recommendation of the Traffic Safety Commission and deny the request to establish a MULTI-WAY STOP on Overland Drive at the Free State High School East Driveway, at the Free State High School West Driveway, and at Champion Lane.
