General Information on Kansas River Levee - Flood Emergency Operation Procedures
The City Commission and the public may have interest in the city’s operational plans during flood emergencies related to the Kansas River Levee.
May 2015 Monthly Permit Reports

Various Parks and Recreation Department Events and Activities
Parks and Recreation hosted successful Arbor Day activities this year.
54 volunteers donated 240 hours of time assisting the City with planting flowers this season. The City is thankful for their efforts and time.
Roger Steinbrock, Marketing Supervisor for Parks and Recreation, participated in a briefing regarding the Summer Meals Act and the Child Nutrition Reauthorization at the U.S. Capitol. He testified to members of Congress about the critical role Lawrence Parks and Recreation and other parks and recreation agencies across the country play in keeping children heathy and fed during the summer months and year round. The trip was funded through the National Recreation and Park Association.
